Racetrack

Grandma decided Nathan needed a real racetrack for his cars!

He wanted to race them over and over again and continued to sign, "more"

Nathan's 1st Amtrak Train Ride, Part 3

Time to head back to Grandma's house!

That's a big step down, Grandma!

Nathan really warmed up to Gloria on the ride home.  My Aunt Nancy was sitting next to her but Nathan kept signing to her "all finished".  (His way of saying--move I want to sit here!)

Playing games

Happy boy!

What a fun trip!  Nathan and I had so much fun with Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Nancy & Gloria!  We may just have to do this again!

Playground with a view

Yes, that is the ocean in the background!  Who ever came up with the idea of installing a playground on the beach is a genius!

Yep, he's still sliding down on his belly backwards!

Nathan's 1st Amtrak Train Ride, Part 2

Nathan loved sitting in his own seat.

Checking out his surroundings.

What are these things called, Mommy?

Everytime the train stopped he would want to sit in his own seat, but when the train started moving he would want to sit with Mommy.

Grandpa (and his snack cup that he is concentrating on) also kept him occupied on the train.

Playing peek-a-boo with Aunt Nancy and Gloria.

Checking out the sites from Grandpa's lap.

The view from the train.  Gorgeous!

Nathan's 1st Amtrak Train Ride, Part 1

Nathan rode his first Amtrak train today!  We caught the train in Fullerton and took it to Oceanside for the afternoon.  What a fun trip!  I was worried he would be a monster since the trip was right in the middle of his nap time--but he did great!

Grandpa showing Nathan the train up close.

He did not like how loud the train was as it started to leave the station!

He was much more content sitting and drinking his water.

He also entertained himself by running circles around the trees.  There was even a brick path to follow! :)

Nathan loves the view from Grandpa's shoulders!  (My Dad is 6'4"!)

Favorite Read Aloud

This is one of my new favorite books to read to Nathan:

The book reads:

I love you through and through.
I love your top side.
I love your bottom side.
I love your inside and outside.
I love your happy side,
your sad side,
your silly side,
your mad side.
I love your fingers and toes,
your ears and nose.
I love your hair and eyes,
your giggles and cries.
I love you running and walking,
silent and talking.
I love you through and through...
yesterday, today and tomorrow, too.

Yep, that about sums it up!
I love you Nathan!

Roar!

Nathan has been learning his animal sounds.  The other day he found this tiger and brought it to Ben and said, "roar"!

He made the tiger "roar" on top of Moose too

Moose plays along

With this face you've got to wonder what he's thinking though!
