Because we adopted out of state and want to finalize Silas' adoption in the state he was born in (It makes things much simpler when it comes to ALL the paperwork) we made an appearance in court before we came back home to California. It is our hope by appearing in court now that we will not have to come back to court when Silas' adoption is finalized in 6 months.

Note: Jeans may look cute on a newborn, but they are in no way "cute" to put on. I highly doubt Silas will ever wear them again!
We found out after the hearing was over that this was Judge Gardner's second day on the job and his FIRST adoption hearing!

The hearing only takes 15 minutes--then it's picture time!
I'd like to think this Judge will always remember us since were were his first case!
